Hey guys
Basically ive just installed windows 7 onto my laptop (did the whole system reset to remove all the **** i didnt want). Anyhow ive went on the acer website and downloaded all the drivers i SHOULD need so ive got the biometric reader ect working, however the volume controls on the touchpad to the left refuses to work. Despite looking on the net i cant find any info thats actually helped although a few people seem to of had this problem. the mute button and as far as i know the other media controls work but just not the volume. does anyone have any experiance or advice on this issue.
much apreciated cheers :P

you havent just updated the bios have you?
only i have on my acer and the audio control touchpad stopped working
i had to flash back to the old bios to get it working again, its a fault with the new bios
just a thought

I had the same problem. You need to download the Acer empowering technology Framework and the various programs that came with the laptop. Give it a reset and it should all work.

If it's non responsive at all, try taking the battery out for 10 seconds and plugging it back in, it should work fine after that.

bump guys, sorry ive just left it for a few months and am having the same problem :( baiscally ive tried reinstalling all the previous drivers and to no avail, may i just say the Acer site is terrible as well. ive tried contacting there product support team however it only gives you the option to send it away for repair. and to be honest i dont really want to send it off for an issue that should be solvable at home. Also when you try to ask a question on there FAQ page it makes you place the SNID of the laptop in which is 11 numbers however it only allows you to enter 3 :\ rage!

As said, you need to download the Acer Empowering Framework along with the other programs that they bundle with the laptop. If you look on the Acer support site, set the OS to Vista HP x32, and download the applications from there.

Works everytime for me.

Acer Empowering doesn't work on W7 and you don't need it or any of the other tat anyway.

To get the buttons to work properly on W7 you only need Launch Manager and you need to check the BIOS version also, 1.13 works but some later ones broke it.

Works fine on mine, its the 32bit Vista version running an x64 Win7 Pro, but it works. I think you need the framework for the OSD to show when you're adjusting volume/etc.
