Hi Forum
I`m after buying the above monitor of overclockers,i currently have a oc 6600gt card, will i need to upgrade my graphics card in order to use this monitor,i normally play games at 1280x1024,but with this monitor the res is higher, will my card play new games higher than 1280x1024.
Thanks
Steve

Thanks for your reply,in that case would be a 6800 gs extreme be better.
Also does anybody have the acer 20inch widescreen monitor.if you could post a pic of one of your games in w/s i`d be grateful
I currently have a 19inch avidav monitor wihich has a max res of 1280x1024,i have seen pics of games running in widescreen and i am impressed by the size of the screen.
I`ve looked and the acer 20inch w/s seems good value for money

Thanks for the reply,
You mean limit by game wise?
I play a lot of new and some old games and have never ever had any problems, however i olny alter the video to 1280x1024,i leave the rest of the game settings to the computer,eg shadows etc etc
Basically if i get this 20inch acer w/s monitor, with my current card setup or if i buy a 6800,then due to my speed of my cpu i am not going to achieve the monitors native res,but but will i be able to play games at 1280x1024 on the 20inch screen
hope this makes sense!!!
Steve

Thanks for all your help and advice.
Would it be worth me keeping my old 19inch tft 1280x1024 and buy a 6800 or a 7800 and would i see a improvement graphics wise over my 6600gt
Thanks again

If you keep to your lower resolution TFT and get a better gfx card then you may be able to turn on a few extra features in game etc.

Your CPU is always going to be a bit of a bottle neck for the system though.
