I'm almost going to buy this, it's going in Grade A1 condition (box opened, unused, so brand new effectively) for £249 on laptopsdirect.

AMD Athlon II P340 DC (2.1GHz) processor
2GB ram
Radeon integrated HD 4250 (256MB dedicated memory)
14" screen
Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)

Any good? Just for gaming and wi-fi. Seems to run call of duty 4 and other games pretty well looking at youtube vids. I was told acer has poor reliability and the card is weak. So do I buy or avoid? My budget is already stretched at £250, and what else is there which is better?

OK, thanks. How about this one?

GRADE A1 - Acer Aspire 5742G Windows 7 Laptop
£299.

On laptopsdirect, they don't give the spec, so I need to email them to find out. For the 4552 I first linked, their version has a processor and ram which is less than what it says that model should have. So I don't know if the 5742G will vary as well. If it doesn't vary, it's meant to have:

Processor: Intel Core i5 460M ( or might be i3 if different version)
Graphics Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce GT 420M dedicated. ( or might be ATI Mobility Radeon HD 540v with 512 MB dedicated video memory)
Display: 15.6 inch, 16:9, 1366x768 pixels, glossy: yes

Now that surely has to be good for £299?
