Hi I am having problems with the above laptop.
I had to reopen the case as the USB Ports and the Power /Charge LED'S were not working. So I think I might have detached the daughter board cable the 1st time I opened it, and wanted to check it.

The big problem I'm having is removing the HDD from the case. The first time it was quite easy, but this time, it is stuck - I've been trying to get it out gently using HDD Spudgers, but it seems to be stuck and I don't want to force it!
I am attaching photos of the drive - I also have a screw in the 3 in the middle of the case - it's loose, but even with a magnetised screwdriver it won't come out! Everything is very flimsy, and I am more used to PC Desktops.

Thanks for any helpful advice

For the screw that is stuck, you need something under it pulling up while you turn it. If you can get your fingernail under it that should do.

For the hard drive you might want to try pushing it back in place and then starting again. I would do this with the sata cable also. I am not sure if you are having problems getting that off but you need to do so with it straight rather than at an angle if possible.

On the 2nd picture there seems to be something rubber like which I think is blocking it.

If you have any old debit/credit/loyalty cards which have expired, you could potentially try using the long side of one and try to gently squeeze between the drive and the rubber.

Actually I can see it clearly in both 1st and 2nd pictures in the top right corner. If you have more than one space plastic card, could try to squeeze one in and then slide along the side of the drive gently. Then do another to try and clear the side of the drive and then leverage the plastic cards a little to try and pull the drive up.

Just be careful and don't use too much force. I've had a few Acer laptops in the past and never had this issue before.
