Acer Aspire 5100 wont power up

Hi guys,

Sister has an Acer Aspire 5100. It wont power up - press the power button, it powers on but powers off a second later. It doesn't get as far as initialising the screen or anything.

Any ideas?

Ram has been reseated to no avail.

can you get a spare module to test ?

I know my laptop powered on and then off again when I had faulty ram

Does it happen on both AC & DC power ?
