Acer Aspire 6530G any good ?

Hi

Can anyone share their thoughts on the new Acer Aspire 6530G for £499 with blu ray drive ?
In the market for a laptop at moment for work , cheers

I have just brought one of these laptops yesterday from overclockers and so far it seems a good buy at £499. The blu-ray picture is great and it has a hdmi socket to connect the laptop to a hd tv. I have installed crysis and it runs fine at 1024x768 on medium spec but on high it jerked when a lot was happening on screen and i ran 3d mark 2006 and i got 3475 3d marks. The 250gig hard drive is split into 2 partitions and the Wireless LAN is very fast, there is a webcam with mic built in and that works well as my wife used it last night to talk to her friend on msn. All in all this laptop seems to be a good buy, well for me anyway but only time will tell.

Well

Its a choice between this or the new Samsung Q210 or Q310 as I will not be gaming on this laptop at all got my main PC for that.
It will only be used for surfing the web , itunes , and maybe watching the odd movie or two along with normal work related issues and a few photos etc.

Well the Q210 and Q310 have smaller screen sizes (12.1" and 13.3").
So for movies I think the Acer would be your best choice unless you want portability. Also the Acer is cheaper (from what I can see).

I have chosen a Samsung Q310 because I needed it to be portable and so I wanted a 13" screen but if I wanted a decent sized laptop then you can't really go wrong with the Acer for that price
