acer aspire 7720G

Anyone got much experience with this laptop?

I am about to buy a laptop and this is the one thats caught my eye for £630
seems a great price for a laptop with 17" screen, 2ghz intel core 2 duo with 800mhz bus and 4mb cache, 2gb ram and 32 hdd.

anyone got one?

Doesn't seem that great, you can get a Dell Vostro 1700 for similar money with much better specs.

I looked at the top 'gamer' model in the 7720 range and the only thing that put me off was that there are no XP drivers for it. Vista Home is no use to me as I need my laptop to be able to join domains at work. You do need to compare the price with an equivalent Vostro, as TheVoice says, but the 7720 looks like a decent machine.

ye its the 7720g version i was looking at, the specs were intel core 2 duo 2.ghz 4mb cache 800 mhz bus, 2 gb ram, 320 gb hdd, 17" screen and 256mb video for £630
