Acer Aspire M1640

I have just got one of the above computers brand new vista installed etc it done its boot up process (naming the computer etc) and it showed the desktop then restarted to complete the process.

on reboot it done everything as it should do, however as it was about to show the desktop, a blue screen came up with no writing on it, just blue. tried restarting, done exactly the same, it starts up gets upto showing the desktop and blue screen comes up?

cant get my head round it!! please any help?

Probably a reason why these piles of junk are so cheap is that they are... Well, so cheap!

I got a 1680 and of all the things I cannot get my head around is that if I run it with a Mouse and the Power Supply connected, its perfect.

But, as soon as I take any one of them out, it hangs????

Go figure?

Also I have noticed that the battery does not provide all the power it truly needs and so it wotn last long enough for a full Windows install, and therefore, I have to keep the PSU connected all the time.

So, on that note, are you trying to install your Windows with or without the Power supply?

On another note, have you cleared the BIOS when trying to install windows?
