I have got a Acer aspire one a150 and wonder if upgrading to a ssd in it will make it go any quicker? its a bit slugish with some of the videos that i play.

It should be capable of playing video without stuttering. What video are you playing?

Well 720 is no chance but even the 480 one sometimes has time delay. Might try installing smaller version of windows xp on?

What player are you using for playing videos? I found KM Player to be really good for playing some HD stuff but haven't attempted full films.

That player doesnt make any differnce. Am thinking of installing windows again but never installed windows from a memory card hehe

It's an atom processor, so very slow. A SSD will help with loading times and snappier paging, but not actual decoding performance.

I found that adding more ram to the netbook increased performance by a long margin. Made viewings vids a lot smoother

CoreAVC will play 720p vids with 1.5gb ram in an AA1...........and its cheaper than a SSD
