Acer G24 Dead Pixel

I'm not sure what Acer's pixel policy is, but if it's like most manufacturers they have a tolerance level of sometimes up to 10 dead pixels on a 24" screen before they'll replace it under warranty.

Overclockers won't replace it for the sake of 1 dead pixel, I'm sure of that. If you're not happy and you want to send it back you'll need to return it under the 7 day DSR rule and order another seperately. It's a pain because you have to pay the postage to return it but if you want a screen without any dead pixels it's sometimes the price you have to pay :(

hmm i get this on this week only, so id have to buy one within a few hours or pay an extra £40

does the dsr run from when its delivered or when ordered?

after looking at it, seems theres more than one dead pixel atleast.

tried playing cod 5 last night and is really noticable :(

Emailed acer to see what they say anyway.

I'm almost positive it 7 working days, so the bank holidays and weekends wont count. Please correct me if thats not accurate.

Cheers

This where Dell scores with thier zero dead pixel policy. In the past I've paid extra for a zero DP guarantee, well worth it.

that certainly is a nice feature when buying a monitor. I have a dead pixel on my psp for the last two years and it still annoys me when i look at it:). Man im hoping lady luck smiles on me when mine is delivered:p

hhmm, was looking at the acer site just there.

http://www.shopacer.co.uk/sitepage/dead_pixel.html

They state that

The Limited Warranty does not extend to minor defects of LCD displays occurring in Products equipped with LCD display technology provided that there shall not be more than six (6) defective pixels per million pixels on a given LCD Display, and provided further that, if the display panel is divided into nine (9) equal rectangular areas, there shall be one defective pixel in the central area of the display
.

Let us know what acer tells you vicious. They might still have some xmas spirit left and be generous:cool:

Another bit of info that might be helpful vicious is a little program called JScreenFix

http://www.jscreenfix.com/

I have never used it, but i saw someone mention it on this forum and it might help you(and possibly me)

EDIT: I may have jumped the gun there a bit. its only for a stuck pixel not a dead one. oh well

EDIT2: You seemed to think that there was more than one dead pixel on the screen. This little program might help you find out how many. Apologies if u have already tried this
