Hi,

Do you know if i can use the Acer HN274Hbmiiid 27" TRUE 120Hz 3D monitor with PS3 in order to play 3D games? If yes, what kind of wire do i need? Is it HDMI 1.4?

Thanks

Bear in mind that that monitor has an average input lag of 15ms. It'll be fine for console gaming, it'll be just a drop in the ocean where lag is concerned and won't be noticeable using a pad, but if you play pc too (I'm guessing you do if you're here) then 15ms is high.
Response time of that monitor is crap too, very blurry.
If I were you, I'd wait a while, see what the upcoming asus (will be fine for 3d ps3) is going to be like before parting with your hard-earned.

Thank you for your replies.

Greenja, i thought that you needed a 1.4a HDMI cable. Is the 1.4 with 1.4a the same?

I just need a cable so that i can play PS3 3D games on the Acer HN274Hbmiiid monitor.

As far as pc gaming is concerned i have 2x GTX580 in SLI which have an HDMI output. Will the same cable do?

Clippa, i already have this monitor but still i did not have any time to play with it. I will let you know what i think of it. Yes i will play also pc games , lets hope that with my pc configuration i wont have that much lag.

1.4a refers to the HDMI controller in the device, not the cable itself. That cable i linked for you will do exactly what you want :)

As for the PC, that same cable will work with your graphics cards yes. The thing is though, over HDMI for 3D the best you can get is 720p@60fps or 1080@24fps (24 fps fine for movies, but awful for gaming).

You really want to use a Dual Link DVI cable from your graphics cards to you monitor otherwise you are severely limiting the performance of that sweet SLI setup!

This cable will of come with the monitor.

As for what clippa said, while true, i have used that monitor extensively (my close friend has one) and never found it to be a problem. It convinced me to spend a large amount of money going 3D anyway.

TL;DR: HDMI cabled linked for PS3, Dual Link DVI for PC.
