acer laptops

hi all,

have been looking for laptops recently and one thing i noticed was that the majority of laptops come with xp media centre installed.. i need xp pro.. does anyone know of any resellers who stock acer laptops with XP Pro? I dont want to have to buy the OS separately. OCUk doesnt do acer laptops so i dont think any links would be classed as competition.

The only lappies I can find that come with XP Pro are the higher end Asus ones and some Sonys.

Really need a laptop for xmas and cant work out what is best to go for!

Acer Ferrari and Travelmate range, those come with Pro. Can't mention any names but google search should bring up the two main Acer retailers

cheers for that.. i was looking at the aspire range which all seem to come with media centre.

Its between acer and asus i think.. sonys are too pricey!

Asus are better laptops, Acer aren't crap, they're good value for money, and no crappier than Dell.

thanks guys... asus seems really good and with reasonable prices too.. they arent the cutest looking laptops ever but they are ok!

I was looking at the F3 range. Can get a decent Core 2 Duo for around 700. The warranty is 2 years compared to a 1yr offered by Acer. And also the fact that they have Xp Pro also sells it.

Anyone here actually use an Asus?
