Hi

I have a standard shop bough Acer Aspire M7711 desktop which I have had for a few years. I am looking to update it a bit.

Only changes I have made to it is installing Windows 7 64bit.

The system has:

4gb DDR2 RAM
Intel Q8300 2.5 GHz Quad Core Processor
750gb Hard Drive
ATI Radeon HD 4650 1Gb Graphics

Not sure which motherboard I have but from a google search on my desktop it might be the Acer FMCP7AM??

I use the computer for general internet browsing and downloading, microsoft office, spotify etc and a few online browser based games. Also play a few shop bought games but nothing to major that requires a super spec PC.

I am looking to gave the system a bit of an update. Would adding another 4gb of RAM to give me 8gb be a worthwhile update.

If not what upgrade(s) would you suggest? Only have about £100 to spend.

Thanks

Pre built PC's are usually quite difficult to upgrade effectively.

You're not going to see any noticeable difference for your usage in going to 8GB of RAM.

First option is to get an SSD as a boot drive, which will speed up boot times, and opening apps. Performance in Windows will generally feel much more snappy. The second option is a new graphics card, although you need to find out whether your PSU is up to running a beefier card.
