I have a second monitor, an ACER P223W, running from the mini port on my Mac Pro, through an adaptor to the VGA port.
When switching back on after sleeping, it often switches to a low resolution, and is impossible to shift back to the proper resolution, even when pressing option/alt on the scaleable options in Display menu - the 1920x1080 option isn't there any more. The only way I can get it back is to restart, or to pull out the mini-DVD port and replace.
Incidentally, if I swap the ports around between the two monitors, the ACER appears to have the correct resolution, but looks blurry.
It's driving me nuts. Any ideas?!
Thanks.
