I'm lost here I haven't upgraded anything in forever and can't seem to find the maximum possible for ram and storage for this.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Judging by the foilowing review on Jarrods Tech it looks like the laptop has 2 x DDR4 So-Dimm slots so you can go up to a reasonable 32GB or 16GB for a better cost/performance ratio.

It also appears to have dual NVME slots along with a normal SATA SSD tray (not sure if there are different versions which have a bigger battery removing this option).

On this basis a cost effective upgrade could be dropping in either a 1TB NVME drive like the WD Blue SN550 or similar 1TB SATA SSD. Both would be in the £65-80 region (I am running the former as a game drive in my laptop and can't really fault its performance).

Few deals around the £900 mark for the Legion 5 with Ryzen 7 5800H and RTX 3060 if you can stretch to that. Still needs the RAM upgrade but will be more "future proof". :)

Assuming its the same model as the video I posted above then you should be able to fit in any NVME that is 2280 in size (so the "standard" sized ones). The only compatibility you may have if with dual sided NVME's as sometimes they can foul if there is anything under the M2 slot itself. This information might be in the Jarrod's video above but if not you may want to open up the laptop and check clearance around and under the dual NVME slots.

In terms of maximum supported it will be more a case of best bang for the buck. Assuming no clearance issues you could go all the way up to the 8TB Sabrent Rockets but these would be lol expensive. A decent option is either a 1-2TB NVME from a reputable brand (basically look on any major etailer like OCUK at their NVME ranges).

Many thanks yet again oweneades, you've been marvellously helpful here. I'll open it up and dig lecherous the clearance as suggested and I'll rewatch the video aswell to be sure. But the thought of actually being able to put an 8Tb drive in there does excite me a little more than it should

No problem :)

Just make sure you are sat down when you check the price of the 8TB drive...

EDIT: Clearance wise, I would say as a rule of thumb, if there is anything under the NVME slot itself then you can't run dual sided NVME drives. From memory this limits the capacity to either 1 or 2TB but I am not 100% on that.
