Any ideas which is better?

Thanks

If you havn't already, go and see them in a computer store... Seeing them in front of you could sway your decision either way. I did this, eventually deciding on an eee... which I ordered from someplace cheaper. I then got very angry when it arrived broken:mad: I should have got from ocuk:(.
Tip: buy from a decent online retailer- or, of course even better is to buy in- store so if it goes wrong you can actually shout at a real person, not a computerised woman!!!

if you want my biased opinion then get the advent :p

I have one and love it :D bigger screen = better in my book ;)

The best netbook is the white Acer One with 512mb ram, 120GB HD and Linux for £229.99 available in the purple shirt store. You can easily install Windows and upgrading the memory to 1.5GB, it's cheap and not that hard.

The problem with the Advent/Wind and you will see this for yourself if you go to a store and have a look is it's closer in size and appearance to a laptop than a netbook which kind of defeats the point of having a netbook.

Hardly....MSI Wind 260 x 180 x 31mm compared to 249 x 170 x 29mm for the Acer Aspire One . 11mm max difference is not a lot.
It's just like reading a 10inch book compared to an 8.9in one.

I know what your saying, on paper there's not much size difference at all but in appearance and i have seen all 3 (Asus, Acer and Advent sat next to each other) the Advent is kind of edging towards being a laptop. It kind of looks bigger than it should.

I think with these things it's always better to go and look at them in the flesh as size dimensions only tell one story.

:)

I also have the Advent and having played with this the Acer and the Asus I think the build quality and size is perfect. I don't know what the problem is with how it looks, give me a netbook that looks more like a laptop than a V-Tech kids toy anyday.

The disappointing thing with the Advent / MSI Wind, is I feel the extra screen size is wasted with out a resolution upgrade.

Granted the Asus is a little toyish in looks but in no way does ther Acer look like a toy especialy the white one and i like my netbooks to look like netbooks ;)

I was a bit surprised by this too. I was considering the EEE 1000 on the basis of the bigger screen, but as the resolution is the same as the 901, it seems pointless, especially as it is then heavier and more expensive.

I have the advent and its faultless. Its small but retaining a very good quality and size screen and incredibly light. The Acer looks better but imo isn't as good in terms of specifications as the MSI/Advent

get the acer the 512 one and then sick another gb of ram in it still work out cheaper then the wind and i like the acer over the wind
