The Predator X38 sports the G-Sync hardware module, and also DisplayHDR 400 certification. All this rips along at a stock refresh of 144Hz, which can be cranked up to 175Hz. There is almost nothing on the technology tree that this monitor doesn’t sport. Which is why it is also expensive, at $2,400 (AU$3,198), +or- 2000euros.

For me it is overpriced compared to the LG 38GN950, that makes the panel, with HDR600, and even if there is no module.

How come this is HDR400 whereas the GN is 600? Looks like its a clone of the GL rather than the GN, which is unfortunate.

it’s already redundant you could by the lg38 new and a rtx 3080 and it would be cheaper by £50. Unless some people would prefer to pay more for the acer

You only have to venture into the GPU thread to understand why manufacturers know they can get away with these sorts of obscene prices.

Too many people who just throw money away on PC gaming, because quite frankly, they have no life outside of it.

a tad harsh there hehe. Some of us have a very very busy life and hence when we do game we like the best even if I only spend on average 8 hours a week on the pc!

Also after working through the whole covid lockdown in the field at various hospitals I think I’m allowed to treat myself.

some of us never had the furlough option etc.

This is why i have to now wait another five years to get a decent display at a decent price because they are used to people buying and not returning poor QC displays that cost a fortune. You totally ruined the PC monitor market fellas. The prices are so stupid you can get a god damm 48 inch 4k OLED at 120hz for 500 quid less. Wtf???
