Hi guys,

NEWBIE TO GAMING. I am looking for my first PC.

Please click on the link below and tell me what FPS I should be getting on 1080p with high settings.

** Competitors **

I would be playing games such as Wolfenstein 2, CS:GO, Diablo III, World of Warcraft, DooM.

Thanks.

I'm sure some like CS:GO it'll fly but with the others maybe struggle slightly? Seems a bit pricy for a desktop with a 1050Ti maybe check on here I'm sure you'd find a better deal. Want a 1060 minimum really.

These two systems perform much better than the Acer, and cost similar amounts:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
  • 1 x OcUK Kinetic Z3 - Intel Z370 Configurable Coffee Lake Gaming PC = £780.04

Hello again Southernorth,

Thanks for your help, that is exactly what I needed to know.

Two questions...

Which PC would you choose out of those two you just built?

How much FPS would I get on the games listed above?

Thanks so much.

not played doom on pc, but the 1050ti would be fine, but not on highest settings if it requires more than 4gb vram and it would breeze through WoW, in fact the 1050ti will be plenty for all games, diablo 3 and cs:go can be run on much weaker systems, i ran wollfenstein Old Blood on high settings @ 1920x1080 with 60fps with a gtx 750 1gb, so i cant see wolfenstein 2 being a struggle.

while the name of that system is cool and the case is pretty neat, what your paying for is the brand, specifically the gaming segment(predator), from their website, the fact its a pre-built and the software plus warranty, the hardware itself doesnt add up to that much really.

okay so only the i5 7400 i could match because obviously i dont know the details of components and there are no B150 boards so i chose a gaming B250 under the assumption acer would use a gaming board, now i didnt include keyboard and mouse as i dont know what acer supplies to compare and i tried to guess the 1050 from the picture, OEM gaming power supplies of 500w are not usually that great so i tried to compare a budget 500w, the case is crap, but only m-atx to resemble the shape of that predator

all in all a few quid could be saved on a cheaper 1050ti, but there is still enough money left over for a decent size ssd which is what that predator lacks.

obviously this isnt my suggestion to you, id choose a better case etc, this was simply to compare what you showed us to a DIY resemblance for less.

I would pick the Kinetic Z3 system, mainly because the RAM in that runs dual-channel mode (so more fps in games).

In Wolfenstein 2 and DooM you'd get around 100fps, probably over 300fps in CS:GO and 150-200fps in Diablo.

In WoW it would be very dependent on what you're doing in-game. During raids, around 60fps. Questing in a quiet zone, over 100fps.

Thanks.

I thought you would have had to get a crazy expensive PC to get those FPS figures but obviously not lol

How come WoW seems to lose a lot of FPS? Is it just a lot more demanding?

Thanks.

It uses an old engine that doesn't efficiently use all the power of modern multi-core processors. Even an i7 8700k @5ghz can dip to 60fps in raids.

I think the new expansion is meant to improve performance on higher core CPUs
