My 4 year extended warranty ran out 4 months ago so of course the screen has just started developing a fault.
First: HDMI input started displaying full white screen and now no longer works
Second: DP input will sometimes suddenly go blank and flash up the "no input" popup. Pulling and reseating the DP cable (at either end) brings it back.

Seems like the controller is failing and it's just a matter of time until DP stops working too. Is there anything that can be done to recover this?

If not, what is a suitable modern equivalent that can be used for both WFH and gaming?

The main issue I already had with this screen is that HDMI is limited to 50Hz which hurts to look at on a 120Hz screen, but it only has a single DP input. I assume modern replacements support higher refresh rate on HDMI.

Nvidia tax module monitors aren't hot on supporting newer connection standards, because that's set by Nvidia having neglected development which might reduce profit margins.
That module is also likely what's rotting in that Acer, because it replaces standard I/O and panel controller circuitry.

If primary use is gaming/movies and size/resolution feels good, same size&resolution QD-OLED is available.
Though fragility of OLED makes endurance limited and for work uses would be best to have only moderate room illumination, so that you can keep brightness and wear down.
