Is this a decent monitor for FPS gaming? it seems decent from specs:

27 inch
TN Panel
1080p
144hz overclockable to 165hz
G-Sync
1ms response time

I have seen it on offer for around £270 from it's usual price of almost £400 so it's tempting.

The other monitor I was considering was the Samsung C24FG70 for £260 which is:

24 inch
VA Panel Quantum Dot
1080p
144hz
FreeSync (I have a 1080Ti though)
1ms response time

Which one would be a better buy since they're about the same price now?

Well since you have a 1080Ti the only choice really is the G-Sync one, both are at the same price so not much different. The only upside to the samsung is its a VA compared to TN which is said to be better. The top one is on offer and a cracking price for a G-Sync monitor right now.

Yeah I know but considering the 1080Ti is so powerful would G-Sync even make a difference if I can get the full 165hz? So take away the G-Sync feature of the Acer would you still go for it over the Samsung?

The Samsung would definitely have better colours but I have a Philips 4k 40 inch VA panel and the colours are fine to me so I'm hoping the colours on the Acer wouldn't be too bad?

The only reason I'm considering the Acer is because it's currently on offer at the same price as the Samsung.

It doesn't matter how powerful the 1080ti is because you would want to avoid using vsync as much as possible.

No point in having all those fps if it ain't smooth and gsync like freesync is built for that.
