I've just received the above mentioned monitor and although the screen seems to work the menu buttons don't and I've noticed the blue light on which should appear on the bottom right of the panel isn't on either? Is the monitor faulty or am I just doing something wrong?

Just received a response from Acer basically saying that the monitor is faulty and will need to be returned. But what is more concerning is I bought this as new However Acer informed me that this is a refurbished model as it has already been returned to them once before, so not happy

Did you purchase it from OCUK or a competitor?

Given my experience with Acer's service, I would try and avoid going the repair route, especially as you purchased it as a new unit. Contact the seller and see where you can get with that. Either a refund and buy from elsewhere, or a new replacement.

I didn't buy it from here but another company but it was purchased as new nowhere did it mention that it was a refurbished item it's only when Acer responded today stating that it was returned to them back in February for a replacement panel that alarm bells started ringing in my head, saying that I must say it does also have quite noticeable ghosting effects when playing certain games, although this doesn't seem to bother my son too much for whom I purchased it for, but it is a serious issue I think if selling a used item as new so I will insist on a replacement.

It's possible someone purchased the monitor, had issues, went through the RMA process with Acer. Wasn't satisfied, purchased a new unit from the retailer, and then returned it as unwanted, returning the faulty unit, instead of the one they received. Assuming you only purchased the monitor recently, i'd avoid ACER and deal with the retailer.

Thank you for the response I will deal with the retailer directly, just as usual you can only contact companies Monday to Friday from 9-5 one of the drawbacks purchasing online, I guess.
