Acer recovery partitions

I can see a recovery partition on the hard disk but ive no idea how to use it, can anyone advise me?

It's a Acer Aspire 3614WLMi

Look in the bios. There is a setting in there to turn the 'D2D recovery' feature on and off.

Once on you simply press a key combination when the system starts up and it will run the recovery routine. On my Acer 1670 it' is ALT and F10.

I've found that and enabled it but the post key combination (Alt-F10) doesnt seem to work at all

Hold the pair as soon as you press the power button. The information on the partition 'may' be corrupt.
