Hi

Currently using this silent little machine over my older more powerful and noisy rig (phenom 955)
and handles most things i do ok but a couple of things niggling me.

The spec of the machine isn't great its the Intel Celeron 2597u version with 2gb ram and a 60gb ssd drive running windows 10.

I was wondering upgrading the memory to 8 GB will make it run a bit smoother? Am i also right in thinking some of the added ram will help with onboard graphics?

Also the inbuilt wi-fi is very poor (Virgin Broadband 50mb a room away) If this is upgradeable either internally with a better card or just a usb stick.

I mainly use the pc for web browzing, photo editing and illustrator (sign making), no gaming other than football manager.

I ran the chrispc windows experience score and got these results (not sure if it's up to much?)

cpu 5.8
ram 5.5
graphics 4.5
gaming graphics 9.9!
Hd 8.0

Thanks

Add 2 sticks of DDR3L would be a good upgrade, you need to use 2 * 4gb modules (and it's laptop memory)

You can also upgrade the internal WiFi (modules are cheap 2nd hand) - though a USB WiFi adapter would be fine too.

Great little guide here for the upgrade: https://m.imgur.com/gallery/iWQO0

Don't know how you survive with such a small SSD! So might want to upgrade that while your at it...

Thanks for reply BongoHunter. From what i can see it will only accept 1 memory module? tried the crucial memory scan and also mr memory scan both throw up different sticks of ram

Struggling to find a wi fi module that will suit so probably will go the usb route.

Thanks for the guide link sure it will come in handy.

The ssd is just for os and programmes. I have an external 1tb drive for everything else :)
