Acer Revo RL100 hardware photos

i thought that i would make a new thread as some were asking if the RL100 would run with 8Gb of Ram, which i am glad to say it does:cool:

and it does make quite a difference, now if i could only manage to get the latest graphics drivers to load things would be great.

Here is a link to a web album, of some internal photos and a few remarks and things to note.

i have not tried xbmc as i didnt think that it played blue rays??

i have been using the Clear fi that comes on the RL100 which to be honest is a lot better than windows media center and deals with blue rays and 3D blue rays:cool:

im not sure how much the RL70 is but the RL100 cost £199

thanks for the link and its good to see that you guys can get it to work.

But im have tried this method numerous times and failed on each account.

when i download the latest drivers i get an .exe file thus i cannot extract the file to find the .inf file which needs to be moddified prior to installing. or have i got this wrong.... do i need to moddify the current driver before trying to install the new one???

i think that i did try to moddify the existing file but the computer would not allow me to moddify it due to privilages.... as my system seems to be securely locked out. Even through DOS prompt.

I have thought about reinstalling windows to be able to moddify the file but i dont really want to lose Clearfi and some programmes on my system which need to have large files downloaded & i only have 1 - 1.5meg internet connection  thus i dont really want to be downloading for a week again lol.

any pointers on how to get the method to work?

many thanks for the reply harvSingh, might have to leave work early to see if this works:D.....

No longer able to play Blu-Ray as no Clear-Fi

( i had a problem with clear-fi at first as it wouldn’t play certain blue rays. Firstly i deleted Clear-fi and downloaded the latest version from acer and installed it onto the revo as the original version always seems to hangup when updating after trying to play an blueray. For a while it still carried out about 4 updates but after that it was fine and is probally the most complete player i have tried.)

Don't want to use anything but MCE...as I have all movies and TV sorted and organised using MyMovies

(To be honest i have never been able to make MCE work on any pc i have owned. How are you watching MCE on the tv, is it just via a HDMI input? I use a programme called Twonky to stream all films from the revo to my xbox seamlessly with perfect sound and picture. Although i did install 8GB of ram which seemed to help video playback a lot and a cheap upgrade)

With clear fi have you tried up dating via the programme its self in the settings? I might have a copy at home of the various drivers. Also my clearfi would not update untill i put in disc that it had troble reading.

Have you tried acer updater? First link above
