Evening all,

I'm considering buying a cheapish laptop to take and leave offshore with me and possibly play some older games like COD4 or MW2, CS:GoSing online.

I'm not sure if this is the best option but seemed like a half decent spec for the price.
I noticed there is a Ryzen and an Intel version so a bit unsure which would be best or if suitable at all.

Any thoughts?

Go for the version with a dedicated GPU. If that's outside your budget, then the Ryzen is likely to be better. The Ryzen integrated graphics is better than the Intel equivalent. You'll be giving up a little bit in terms of the CPU though. Performance wise, I think the Ryzen integrated graphics lets you run Fortnite (not sure at what settings or res, presumably lowish). So, I would have thought you're fine for older CODs and CS.

Hi, I done some digging into it after I posted and then realised that it did not have a dedicated GPU.
I have since been looking at Ryzen 3550 with RX560X GPU laptops and now considering waiting for the 16xx series cards to be released on the intel side to see if I can pick up a deal with a laptop with maybe a 1050ti card.
