Acer Windows 10 stuck at bootup

It won't get past the inital Acer splashscreen. I've watched the loading circle for 2 hours but no change in screen. I don't know what to press because Windows 10 doesn't seem to show any of the F-key shortcuts when booting. I only know how to boot into safe mode etc when I can get to the desktop but that's out of reach. I have manually switched the laptop off through the power button but everytime I switch it back on it gets stuck at the same place. What are my options?

Hold shift when you start the laptop and you'll get the usual recovery options.

Thanks for the suggestion. Tried it but nothing changed. I'm going to give it a few more goes.

Edit: Okay. Attempted 4 more times, no result. Just Acer Splashscreen with the dots going in a circle.

Do you have a PC to hook up the laptop drive and test for faults?
