I'm after a new monitor and inevitably the Acer X34 has caught my eye, along with its £900 price tag.
I've also heard a lot about the issues customers have reported and am afraid I'll encounter them myself. Especially with my luck when it comes to monitors.
My last display was a Dell 5K. I went through around 6 of them and was never happy. Dead pixels and dust under the screen of every single one. Recently sold it for a big loss.
Have an Asus 4K TN at the moment. Dust under the screen again. Awaiting response from Asus tech support.

Anyway, I'd like to know if Overclockers are good with returns. If I decide to buy the X34A from them and run into dead pixels/dust under screen/severe backlight bleed etc, will I be able to return it without having any issues? Will I have to pay return costs, restocking fees etc?

Cheers.
Hope to join the X34 club soon :)

You have 14 days to send it back if your not happy with it for whatever reason which you'll have to arrange postage. If your sending it back due to it being faulty then usually OCUK will arrange for collection.

What you may say is a fault (coil-whine, dead pixels etc) may not be what the manufacturer classes as a fault so it's probably best to assume it's going to be at your cost.

Yeah its not cheap either, Royal Mail and Parcel Force quoted around £50 for me, im sure there are probably cheaper postage options though.

Wouldn't Overclockers arrange a pickup and charge you whatever the non forum member delivery charge would be?

I didn't ask tbh bud, i just asked how i should return it and if i should use any specific delivery service, they said i could use any. In my case it was a mixup, when they realized it was a faulty monitor i was returning and not just unwanted they arranged pickup and payed for it.

That sucks.
Do you know the manufacture date on your one?
Was coil whine always present or only while gaming?
Did you try it at 95Hz? Apparently it goes away at that refresh rate.
How much was return postage?

It was March 2016 according to the stick on the box.

Coil whine was present in both 2D and 3D application, I wouldn't of cared if it only happened during gaming.

I tried every refresh rate from 75hz to 100hz, it starts buzzing at 80hz and gets progressively louder as you crank it up to 100hz. I tried disabling the built in speakers also as some people reported that fixed it but no luck.

The company I work for has a Interlink contract so it only cost me £7 to ship anything to the UK.

It's a shame because it had no dead pixels and it overclocked to 100hz with no issues. It's just my room is usually very quiet and the constant buzzing is driving me nuts.
