Hi all,

I'm finally upgrading from my Dell U2410 and NEC 24 dual monitor for a single 34/35 inch UW behemoth.

I've been reading up on the monitors and wanted you input/experience on which you consider the better of the bunch?

The monitor will be used for various things, but I'm not a video/graphic editor. It will be used a lot for games (I'm not competitive), watching the casual movie if my missus is hogging our TV. Quite honestly I don't really know what's important to me when it comes to monitors as I have been out the "monitor" scene for a long time. I, as anyone appreciates rich colours and blacks. I'm not too familiar with freesync or gsync as I've not experienced it. Just looking for the best experience possible and I've narrowed it down to those 3 (The AW is outside my budget).

I'm also running a 1070 Nvidia.

Any help, greatly appreciated!:D

X34P would be the best pairing for your GPU, as it's G-Sync. Pointless to get Freesync unless you plan on going AMD in the near future. G-Sync does make a difference and will help eliminate tear and stutter. This will come in handy at 1440p with a 1070 as it may chug a little in some games with high settings at that resolution, so G-Sync will help keep things smooth. It's also just generally a very good monitor, 120Hz overclock, good colours, uniformity and viewing angles. Providing you get an example with minimal back light bleed and glow (all IPS panels suffer from this to some extent but providing it's minimal it won't be a problem), then you should be very happy. Buying any monitor is a bit of a lottery these days though to be honest... 'quality control' is a phrase that doesn't seem to be understood by many manufacturers.
