Hello everyone, please could you help me decide between these two monitors I am sure most of you have used or still use one of these monitors and after reading so many reviews some don't seem so bias as they should so could you please help me decide on which one should I purchase. My main concern is all the backbleed issues they have also.

Ips, 144hz, freesync, 2k, 27inch monitor are the features i'm looking for but don't want to spend more than 500£ for one.

Cheers.

If those are your only options I would go for the Asus as apparently the Acer XF270HU has issues with overdrive while being used with Freesync. That said I had the Asus for a few days and I sent it back as it was nowhere near as good as my current monitor. It also had bad backlight..

I've had both the XF270HU and the MG279Q a few months ago and personally I despised the Acer.

It's build quality is poor for a £400 monitor. It wobbles and doesn't feel strong at all. It's riddled with firmware bugs (e.g the blue RGB value not updating when you change it despite it actually making a change, cannot change overdrive settings in Freesync mode, brightness resets when changing certain settings etc). Also had a bright piercing blue power light right on the front of the monitor which drove me over the edge.

I also doubt it has a good overdrive implementation on this monitor. When I compared it to the Asus MG279Q side by side I noticed the Acer had noticeably more blurring in Testufo and games. Not a great deal more, but it was noticeable and games (mostly fast paced shooters) just didn't feel as pleasant as they did on the Asus.

In my opinion the Asus is overall the better monitor in every way minus it's poor Freesync range of 35-90Hz. You can mod it to 57-144Hz though if thats more suitable for you.

I see, thank you for your response.
But I wonder if the new model of the Acer XF270HU has fixed those issues.
Cheers.
