Hey guys

Had this monitor since release but my Msi Lightning 290x is just not cutting it anymore with new titles and tripe A games

What GPU do you guys who own this monitor use to see its full potential?

I fear i am best to wait for the 490x when its released but thats not expected for a long time?

thanks!

I have a Fury X I picked up used and works very nicely even if the fps drops you don't notice it. I had a 390 before and it was ok but wasn't quite good enough hence the switch.

Its good enough for now but if the 490 is faster I'll definitely be feeling the upgrade itch. Personally I wouldn't shell out for a new card just now look for a used one to tide you over, but thats just me.

Definitely try to wait for the Vega/490X cards tbh m8, Fury just isn't that much of a step up for you if honest.

Drop a few settings for now and then you know you're guaranteed the very best DX12 card when it arrives

I run my XR34 with a Fury X too. The only game I've had to tweak settings on is Rise of The Tomb Raider.

Here some of the FPS scores I get with recent games with everything maxed:

Rise of the Tomb Raider (antistropic x4, HXAA antiailsing) - 50FPS
Fallout 4 - 67 FPS
Shadow of Mordor - 67 FPS
Grid Autosport - 61FPS
Just Cause 3 - 59 FPS
Bioshock Infinite - 83 FPS
HITMAN - 57 FPS

You'll also be limited to 60Hz

No I'm quite sure it will be 75hz. Unlike the Gsync version of the montior, you don't need to use the overdrive/overclock function or whatever it's called to reach the maximum refresh rate on the monitor. 75hz is the normal setting so I don't see why using and Nvidia card would deliver anything less...

Nope, their are frame skipping issues with the XR34 and nVidia cards when pushed past 60Hz
