Acer XR342CK artifacting and blacking out

Hi, I got an Acer XR342CK monitor in late December 2016 and some time in the past couple of months it has started to do some weird stuff.
No matter if I use hdmi or display port I keep getting these pink and grey blocky lines across the screen that come and go in an instant and sometimes while its doing this the screen will just go black, the monitor stays on and the video signal stays connected to my pc so I know the monitor is on, the blackness lasts between 1 and 5 seconds at a guess and then its fine for a random number of minutes and then starts again.

I should also note that on display port the artifacts are accompanied by a popping from the speakers which doesnt seem to happen on hdmi.

I have tested different video sources and different cables and my other monitors are behaving normally on the same sources and cables.

Anybody else had an issue like this?

I managed to catch one issue on video but cant seem to actually catch it in the act most of the time.

If you watch closely around 14-15 seconds in theres a bar across the screen and an audible pop followed by another shortly after.
