Aces of Thunder

The deluxe edition has 5 extra aircraft, but the store page doesn't seem to list the 24 included in the standard edition.

Yes, it does list the five extra aircraft though:
F4U-4
Hurricane MkIV
SBD-3
P-40E-1
Spitfire Mk Ia

I'm holding fire for now, want to see some feelings after people have played it for a while.

Just downloading the basic version now - Pita that you have to pay for those extra aircraft - hope they are not essential to the single player games...

Reviews are not looking good on steam...

That's a worry. It pays to be wary of early access pre-release reviews/previews when they've been provided with copies of the game (and potentially other kickbacks) by the publishers/developers. However the footage I've seen so far looked pretty good.

Guess I could always take a punt on Steam and refund it there are any serious problems. I wonder if the PSVR2 version is better as most of the early access videos seemed to focus on it?

just read the reviews too, bit concerning about not beinga ble to use HOTAS. Looking at the patchnotes it seems they have concentrated on the Xbox controller and gamepad - if this is aimed at flt simmers then I would have thought a joystick was essential.

No head tracking support for flat screen users either, that's pretty criminal in the this day and age.

Don't say that, I was thinking about picking this up, already got cheap Shopto credit on my PSN account :(

apparently.. and I don't know how true this is, as I haven't tried them, but there is only one HOTAS that works with the PS5.. and it's the Thrustmaster HOTAS 4.. all the other version just don't work..

A friend of mine who plays MS flight sim on his PS5 has tried quite a few HOTAS, and none of them worked.. but finding the exact HOTAS 4.. is hard.. they are very very expensive on ebay.. etc..

would be delighted to be corrected on this!!

I’d definitely hold off. If this is still effectively beta now that’s pretty crap tbh. This was in all the promo when psvr2 came out as ‘soon’ that was, what 2 years ago? If it’s janky at best now I don’t hold much hope

Your correct. I've just Google searched the usual suspects and all out of stock of the Hotas 4. If I want to play it with a stick I'm going to have to buy it on Steam and get a PC compatible set-up.

I was about to pull the trigger on this but saw a few posts saying it wasnt working correctly with Virtual desktop
Is anyone running it ok on virtual desktop?

No head tracking on flatscreen pretty much makes it VR only and hence not worth buying for anyone without a headset.
