Can I connect my pda to my laptop using ad-hoc and then just enable ics on the laptop and start using the internet on the pda?

I have a laptop connected to my lan via ethernet, I want to set up an ad-hoc connection between my laptop and my pda, so I can check email, browse the internet etc on my pda when about the house.

It's an xdaIIi, pretty much every windows 2003 and above pdas support ad-hoc over wifi. There an option for it when I go to add new connection.

EDIT- I've got it connected now but can't work out how to share the internet. :p

Which 2 connections do I need to bridge?

I have the "internet connection", then "local area connection", "wireless network connection" "1394 connection" and "local area connection 2".

No idea what 1394 is, it just comes up when I switch wireless on, and lan connection 2 says network cable unplugged, bluetooth lan access server.
