For those of you that use it,
  • How is it best applied?
  • Do you need to cover the discs when applying?
  • How many cans of the aerosol for a bike?
  • How long does it last on exposed areas with regular riding in current condition?

I wouldn't cover the braking surface with it,far as I know it lasts 3 months ? Before needing another application

From a spray gun is best to apply it,some bike shops apply it for you

Best applied with a cloth, rub it over, spraying it just always seems to be wasteful, or even better pay someone else to do it :D

Do not spray anywhere near the brakes.

One can will easily cover one bike, we had one tin and I think we did 3 bikes and still had some left.

I think if applied properly it will last all winter, then all you need to do is give it a hose down to wash off any road salt, if you sponge it down properly with soap etc then I am sure it will wash it off.

If you can't be bothered doing it yourself, allyearbiker.co.uk £60 and they'll clean your bike very, very well - and spray on the ACF 50 with an atomiser so it goes everywhere.

Little mention for FS365 - Brilliant when you bring the bike home wet, Just cover the discs & spray it liberally everywhere else apart from tyres. I have used it for literally years & keep my bike outside under a cover all year round. I really rate the stuff. :)

Sorry, I meant cover the brakes as in protect them from getting sprayed. Will give it a go with a cloth instead though as that'll probably be easier!

4T5 - is it any different to ACF?

I found it easier to use than ACF as it's just a Spray & Go, None of this wiping/polishing nonsense. It's also recommended to be used when the Bike is Wet so it's perfect when using the bike all the time & bringing it home just wanting to put it away without the whole cleaning regime having to be started.
Sensible people would have both, Use the FS365 when just coming home & wanting to put the bike away & keep the ACF for the Big weekend clean. I can guarantee FS works though as I've Never had issues with any of my bikes & they've all been kept outside under a cover & used when I want not just when it's nice. :)

I'll try dig out an article that shows the side by side comparisons between components exposed to all weathers coated in WD40/FS365/ACF50 - the results are quite shocking, you wont use FS365 over ACF50 again, I promise you that (if you're using them for the correct purpose anyway)

Personally, I swapped from the aerosol can version to the pump spray version, topped up by the big bottle, couple of pumps and just spray around the general area and rub/wipe in with a decent cloth or microfibre cloth, just dont go over board with it and make sure you cover all the nuts and crannies! Avoid your discs/pads, either cover them up or take your wheels out and do the bike, and then the precise wheel bits separately. I do it myself regularly but once in a while it goes to a chap in Bolton who cleans and details the entire bike, and then applies a very good coat using his machine sprayer thingymabob and its fab, gets those hard to reach places and always does a nice even coat everywhere. Really brings out the best of the bikes appearance especially if you have a lot of black metal work and engine casings etc

Best way to apply is with a compressor and spray gun. FARRR easier and faster than clothing it on and you get a nice thin application. Appreciate this is not easy for someone without a compressor, but a suction fed gun is cheap if you have a compressor already.

Cover control surfaces (levers etc), discs, pads, footpegs etc....all the obvious places you don't want something slippy!

I got one of the big .95l bottles the Christmas before last and I'm just coming to the end of it now after using it on my ybr and sv. Got another bottle a pump pressure spray bottle coming tomorrow to see if it'll give me better coverage than the water spray bottle I've been using.

i use the aerosol and it started to leak a little from the top and is hard to just spray and go with it, hard to control. so i spray on and wipe over

may try the normal spray bottle next

FS365 comes off with every wash so will have to reapply all the time, im sure its good but dont think its as good as ACF50
