Achievements in GFWL

Hi guys,

Just had a mate round, having a quick razz on fallout 3 with the new patch and he pointed out to me that I had no achievements?!

Not that I'm particularly bothered, but does anyone know why this is? I appear to be signing into gfwl each time the game starts with the account I created just play the game, and it shows my other recognised games; gow and gta4 – also with no achievements. I've completed gow and fallout 3 so in theory I should have gained some achievements shouldn't I :confused:

Any ideas?

Do you have an offline GFWL profile or Online one ?
Does it prompt you to enter your LIVE access key when you hit guide button in the game ? If not then thats your problem look here & or ask the MS reps:

If you made an offline account, you wont get any achievements. If you signed in with an online account, you would get them, and that includes when you sign in with it when your not connected to the net.

If you have hotmail you can sign in using your account with that, and probably many other microsoft logins.
 
I can login using my gfwl account, using the standalone windows app; browse the market place etc. but when I try logging in using exactly the same credentials, it says it's downloading the profile then it comes back with a 'can't connect to live - you may be in an unsupported region.' error message...
 
I never bothered with GFWL, but if I installed it now would the unlocks found in Fallout 3 be transfered to it?
 
You only get achievements while logged in to GFWL ( online or or offiline). If you've finished the game you need to replay it to get any achievements while signed into GFWL.

You need an Open NAT. Thats your problem. Many EU ISP's do not allow this unless you disable certain security features on your PC (BT for instance revert it back to closed unles you disbale a feature on your BT Router). Look at these MS support pages for starters.

99.9% of all GFWL profile issues are user security related. Easiest thing to do is disable your firewall & also ensure you have (on Vista) the SSDP Discovery Service running set to auto as this controls port mapping to allow apps like GFWL to use the correct port.
