My listening space is too lively, it fails my clap test!

I'm in a rental, so I'm keen to ensure whatever I get is re-use, which also rules out sticking huge screws in walls. The space isn't huge and has a bay window at the side which assume is part of the problem. The listening area also has a staircase open at the back which will not help matters.

I have tried the GIK survey however they want me to spend 5k and fill my small space with lots of panels.

I've lots of soft furnishings including thick curtains, however the walls are empty.

Any suggestions for a quick fix?

It's a rental, you've done what you can, get a few more till house plants.

Enjoy and stop trying to fix something you can't or shouldn't bother with.

I was gonna say blow in acoustic insulation and triple glazed windows but since it's not your home, only option is those expensive and ugly panels you hang on the wall and ceiling

Are any of those expensive ugly panels adhesive / hang by nail?

How about using a thick heavy curtain over the bay which you believe is the source of the problem?

If you don't want to screw into the walls perhaps a number of heavy duty command strips will work.

There are other panels on eBay too, some of the thinner ones will be less effective but are light enough to be held up with picture hooks.

Maybe some of those 3M magic ones will be able to hold heavier ones.
