Hi i was wondering if anyone has used "Akasa AK-PAX-2 " I've got an eclipse, with some low noise 120mm Fans in it. But i wanted to get the noise down as much as possible. Does the acoustic padding make much difference and is it really worth it??

It stops the case panels resonating, if they do like mine did on my eclipse. It didnt raise my temps in the eclipse as the air doesnt stay in the case for long due to the layout and 120mm fans front and back. IMO it isnt really worth it as its quite expensive but i just thought id give it a try.

So does it reduce the noise levels any then? i dont quite see how it would as the foam pannels dont appear to stretch across the whole of the pannel

It does nothing for 99.9% of people. It will make your computer run hotter, that happens to everyone.

It is rubbish, takes almost a day to remove and is just terrible

Do not do it!!

I spent £30 on some for my Antec Sonata a while back and it made absolutely no audible difference to noise but did manage to put my temps up by at least 5 degrees :(

While i certainly am not a fan as such, i like it for rigs im going to watercool, its a nice base to mount pumps, there are cheaper and better alternatives, rarely to they look as tidy.

I use the bottom part of a kitchen sponge for my pump - the yellow bit. :)

For the love of God, Don't do it!

I'm STILL trying to take the crap off my Praetorian. Makes bugger all difference to sound, but it will increase your temps by at least 3 degrees.
