Since enabling ACPI in my bios due to getting an SSD to use as my primary drive, I have not been able to use my USB keyboard during the post to ender the bios or select different boot media. And while this hasn't been a problem as I've had no desire to access it, this weekend I'm looking at getting Windows 8 installed, meaning I need to make my PC boot from the DVD drive, something I need a working keyboard for. Is there any option besides going out and dropping £5 on a rubbish ps/2 keyboard? I assume this will at least work?
What other options are there? I'm going to be wiping the SSD and starting again as part of the install, so I can't simply do it from inside windows. And is it normal that enabling ACPI has prevented my usb keyboard from working? Or have I done something wrong somewhere as well?
