Does Acrobat 8 have the facility to, from a list of names, create multiple files with the identical content but a different name at the top of each?

If this is not possible can anyone suggest a method I can use (e.g. Word and batch convert to .pdf) it does NOT need to be neat or clever - anyway that get's it done which is faster than typing them in myself is good for me.

Thanks!

I seem to have had some success with Mail Merge but is having the slight difficulty with me asking it to merge 250+ records with a 6MB file...

I'll let everyone know when it finishes :)

Hmm, I ended up doing it in Adobe In-Design but it doesn't seem to be working very well.

It only seems to let me do one record at a time (even when I fill out all the boxes and it claims to be doing several) and has them as open files as oposed to creating saved files with a sensible naming system.

Anyone got any ideas?

Although I seem to have written this entirely by myself, someone may be interested.

Adobe InDesign allows data merge but isn't very clever with it as it will only merge into open files and not to written ones. It will either create multiple instances of the same file with the merged data or just append one file with the content repeating with only the merged data changing.

If you try to merge even simple data into a file it reaches its capacity after about 100 data entries (depending on the length/complexity of the file). This is utterly ridiculous for software that's supposed to be industry grade.

Sadly the design was a bit too complex for Word and had to be in InDesign.

I'm actually quite apauled that I have to consider M$ more competent than Adobe in these matters
