Acronis 10 and scheduled tasks puzzle

Does anyone know how to get Acronis 10 to successfully start a scheduled task? I keep setting it up to perform a differential backup each Sunday at a specific time and if the computer is switched off then to start the task the next time the computer is started. However, each Sunday that scheduled time comes and goes (I never have the PC on at the appointed time) so when I bring my PC out of Vista "Sleep" I expect Acronis to start the backup job - it doesn't. I have also noticed that when I am setting up Acronis schedule task that I am prompted for a password which I ignore as I have never setup a password. When I do click next I then get the prompt that the password is incorrect (well it would be as I don't have one). Finally I am reminded that without the password the scheduled task might not take place. What on earth is going on (a) with the password prompt (b) with the scheduled task not taking place? Could it be something connected with Vista and Sleep mode rather than a conventional shutdown etc.

I don't know how Vista does it, but in XP scheduled tasks won't run unless a password is set, you need to disable that component.
This link might help.

I think we may have got our wires crossed here - the password I refer to is an option used in the Acronis Backup setup options which is the one I haven't set.

imho it's asking for a user account and password because it needs them to start a scheduled a task. If you set up a backup job without scheduling it you will not be asked for this information. It's trying to integrate with the OS. Can you run a backup manually without scheduling it?
I'm not convinced it's got anything to do with Vista or sleep modes :p
