Acronis - back up entire system to NAS?

I'm pretty sure Acronis can do this, but I wanted to check with those who might be using it.

I want to get a NAS and backup an image of my OS to it. Can Acronis do this and if so, how does it work?

(I'm currently using an old version of Ghost and haven't got a NAS yet).

Ghost boots from a CD into its own environment and I assume doesn't support network, NAS or USB (I can't remember off hand which version I have).

Will Acronis do a similar thing? i.e. boot from a CD/DVD and support the NIC and see the NAS natively? Or does it work from inside Windows somehow?

You can backup with Acronis over a network and you can do it from the bootable CD or from within Windows. My own preference is to backup using the CD.

I believe the latest version of Acronis will allow you to backup to network shares, yes.
