Acronis can't see HDD

I'm trying to clone one of my HDDs using Acronis TrueImage 11. The problem is it only sees the drives attached to my main SATA controller, the destination drive is connected to a seperate controller card.

The destination drive shows up in windows, but Acronis doesn't pick it up, it only shows drives connected to the main controller.

I'm using Vista x64 BTW.

Any ideas?

Is this on the bootable media that you can create, or actually in an installation of the program?

You may have to use 'safe mode'; however if it is installed on Vista64 (and is the latest version) it should see all disks which windows can see.

Yep, it's the latest version, and is running in Vista 64. Ill try it in safe mode.

I had a problem a couple of years ago and they were very helpful.

make sure you've got the very latest v11 .8101 i think..

try the live disc in full mode

talk to a live chat person, they'll sort you out

need to give them your cd key, so if you've got a pirate copy, buy it instead

I tried a different drive that I had laying about. Plugged it into the same controller, and Acronis picked it up right away. Swapped back to the other one, and Acronis can't see it

Obviously that would suggest a faulty drive, but I can use it perfectly in windows :/

it's not a dynamic disc or anything funny is it..?

check in disk management
