Hi,

I've want to backup my freshly installed system with Acronis TI.

I've not had Acronis TI for long and only used it once previously, on my second PC and it worked brilliantly. That PC had one hard drive fitted and everything was installed on it, operating system, all programs and apps etc.

However, my main system, I have just reformated and reinstalled Vista on.

I have three SATA drives installed on it.

1. C/ : This drive is a 36Gb Raptor with the OS, Vista Ultimate installed.

2. D/ : This drive is a 200Gb Seagate with all my backed up files and documents etc. I use this drive as an archive.

3. E/ : This drive is another 200Gb Seagate that I install all my programs and applications on, as well as a few games.

Now, I'm not fussed about backing up the D/ : drive with the archive on it, as I always make a second backup to DVDR of anything saved on there, but I want to backup my C: drive with the OS but at the same time I want to have all my installed programs on the F: drive backed up.

Basically so if anything goes wrong, I can recover the system to the current state its in, all installed programs included, even if they are not on the same physical drive as the OS is.

Can Acronis do this?. As I said, used it once before but it was easy as it was just one drive to back up.

Any assistance and advice appreciated.

Thanks.

As long as you restore the partitions to the same drive letters they were originally on, C:\ and E:\ (NOTE: does not have to be the same hardware and can even be two partitions on the same disk but it will install the new drive/drives when you first boot up) you will be fine.
