Can anyone who uses Acronis True Image10 answer this question please. I find Acronis easy to use and it seems to do a good job. However, given that I backup fairly regularly I am finding that my external drive is rapidly filling up with incremental/differential backup jobs. I previously used Ghost and this had an option to limit the number of backup jobs stored in addition to the main backup - I had mine set at (1). That way I only ever had the main backup plus the last incremental job stored, thus running out of space was never a problem. However, I can't seem to find such an option with Acronis so I now have around 9 incremental jobs plus the main backup and hardly any room left. If there isn't an option to limit the number of backups then is it safe to opt for differential backups and when completed simply delete the previous job thus having just the original backup and the last differential backup in the chain?

Only just bought this so I am no expert, but are you using the auto rename feature? if you are it will create multiple backups if you switch this off it should overwrite itself each time.

I have found it under "backup rules" wish they had made it more obvious. You can select how many backup jobs there are before it starts again. I have reset mine to just two - the original and a differential. You can also select how long to keep backups for.
