What are peoples thoughts on them?

I was looking through the Loxley catalogue yesterday and stumbled across them. I'm especially interested in the idea of the Aluminium print but haven't seen any in the flesh. Do they all look good or some exceedingly tacky? I like the idea of having a couple of photos on the wall without a frame.

Not specifically asking about Loxley here, I know there are loads of others that do these.

I've wanted to try the aluminium for ages.....i think it is just printed on paper mounted on a metal back ?

Ah, ok. Makes sense. I did wonder how they printed on aluminium.

The other one I saw on loxley was wood printing. Not sure a piece of hardboard with a photo on is the best look though...!

Tempted to buy a couple though as they have 40% one of each type at loxley at the moment.

Phal, I think kind of photo is probably very important in all these things, makes it a bit more difficult too. I actually get print on two types of paper depending on whether it's colour or B&W. I could go even crazier and get prints on several other types depending on style but thought two types was enough for continuity! I could definitely see the same happening here...

A 6ft aluminium print would need an epicly large resolution image. It sounds like it'll need a high resolution print rather than getting away with 100dpi prints like canvas.
