Hi all- just wondering if anyone has had any experience with clear acrylic pc cases. Is there any down sides to them, i like them as they are a bit different. Obviously cable management and lighting will have to be a feature in one otherwise its pointless. Any suggestions opinions etc etc

Regular dusting?

Easily scratched?

Maybe not as stong if you're moving it around for LANs etc.

Can look very cool though!

PK!

Very true just remembered reading the rules regarding that- wish ocuk would stock them haha. Anyone else got one or any opinions on them?

they did used to stock them, but obviously no one wanted them

The idea is a novelty, other than that they are pointless in my opinion.

I'd rather have a case that I know will look good and cool well, and is nice and strong, rather that some glued together plastic tat.

InvG

One of the ideas for a case project I've come up with when I've let my mind wander is an acrylic case made as thin as possiable so it can be wall mounted as the ultimate in geeky art. I'm not sure I'll ever do it, so if anyone feels like giving it a go I promise not to take them to court!

PK!

unless you're prepared to put tons of extra effort into making the cabling neat, and dusting every few weeks don't, if you're willing to spend the time, and you reckon you can pull it off then great, but if you don't post pics: it never happened :p

Cool cheers- i think if i got one i would be prepared to do the cable management well and make it neat- id have to otherwise it wouldnt look good.Could make a good feature out of it with the right lights and sleeving etc etc

if you do it right it will look faily decent, there was one posted a few weeks ago that looked excellent, but one of my old friends, who has now ditched it in favour of an NZXT lexa(not sure which looked/s worse tbh) looked god aweful :D

I think Danger Den just released one called the torture rack looked very nice from what i rember as it was a perspex cube! I think it also had a built in res for water cooling but cant rember...

EDIT:- Just had a look and they do a few of these the one above and one designed for air and another designed for water cooling they look very different from anything Ive seen before:) I would link you but Im not sure on the rules about linking to manufacturers even ones OCUK stock?
