Action camcorder Contour vs ION vs GoPro

I did a small research on the action camcorders, wondering which one would be best price/performance range for filming while riding a motorcycle.

These are the deals I found...

ION Air Pro - £122 inc. delivery

GoPro Hero 3 Black £239

Which one would be best for amateur videos to post on YouTube?

It seems to me like the ION is the winner as it has the most accessories with lower price and impressive video quality. But I want to hear your experiance and views about these camcorders

just got back from a biking trip to france.

Had two go pro blacks and a drift HD.

the go pro has the best image quality no question but all the gimmicks get frustrating.
It's over complicated and becomes a chore to even set up simple shots.


The drift was so simple to use. the screen on the camera makes setting up shots easy and the rotating lens makes it even easier to line every thing up.
Also because the drift uses the standard camera tripod thread you can use a large variety of mounts.

suction cups are handy but often leave to much vibration. solid mounts like yoke mounts seem to work best.


I've read good things about the contour but not heard of the air pro.

If it where me I'd not be sucked into the media hype about the go pro and have a look at the Drift HD ghost, for motor biking personally I think its the best camera to get.

On popular auction site ...bay. You get what's on the picture for that price...

@famas, this camcorder costs more then the GoPro Hero 3 Black. I was hoping to buy something for no more then 200 pounds...
Now there's a newer model ION Air Pro 2
