thats what the grace period is for, make sure that your PC is running properly before you click activate that way you will not waste an activation ( important if you have OEM )

Note you have been here 1 month. I've been here over a year. I'm not trying to be argumentative or dofficult for the fun of it but that does tend to make you a tad more jaded when you see the exact same sort of question posted every day, and you know that if someone used a shred of initiative and just took a mere 10 seconds to search they would find the answer straight away. In fact the answer to this very question was on this very same page, about four or five times.
Nice to see you found the rollees smiley already though, I guess we can look forward to seeing it in future. The weaker posters tend to rely on it a lot.

why waste the time to even reply to him Richdog if you are not interested? if you see something that annoys you simply press back and go look at another topic. Yeh there is a search function but most threads have about a million posts in it and to find what you are looking for can get annoying.

So, you have been here a year and you can't be bothered to answer a question? You would much prefer someone to do a 'search'. Sometimes it is quicker to ask a question than to do a search as you may know. Just because i have only been on here a short while does not make me 'blind' to what happens in forums. I am a member of a few other PC related forums.
As for the smilies, i notice you use them quite a bit.
And of course, if you see a thread with yet similar questions and you don't want to give any 'direct' help then pass over that thread and move on! Simple really.

Thats what the search forums is their for, ok it might not be able to find everything your looking for but it does find a lot of what you need to find out.

We are all fine with people asking questions... no-one is saying otherwse... the point was that this question has been answered several times already and could have been found with minimal effort.
I think you will find people will react this way no matter which section you post in if your question involves something easy that has been answered multiple times within a short time period.
I wasn't intending to belittle the guy, just give him a nudge in the right direction so that in future he could maybe use a lttle initiative.

I like to see members asking questions, espessially new members - it gives these forums a purpose. I agree that searching is an invaluable resource, but never forget we were all new to this once.......
As to the question - if every thing is working well then activate. Otherwise leave it till the last minute. Remember your OEM OS will be locked to your current hardware if you activate it

Sometimes the search results are a giant 'muddle'. That is why people ask direct. I don't mind answering a question if need be. Sometimes people who say you should do a search are the 'lazy' ones who can't be bothered to give an answer.
