Hi there,

I've recently purchased an SSD and I'm having trouble activating AHCI in the BIOS.

I've downloaded the drivers here
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3967#dl
Done a clean install of W7 from cd drive
Loaded the drivers during install
Checked the driver dates in device manager (they seem correct)
I've also followed the instructions to make the registry change prior to changing to AHCI.

I can't for the life of me see the settings to change the drive from IDE to AHCI.

Am I missing something??

Thanks in advance!

Its in the BIOS usually, look for Integrated components and then the SATA controller.

I dont like this "do it after the install" rubbish, instead I set it in the BIOS first, then do the fresh install.

I've found the SATA controller but I only have the selection for RAID. I've done a few intalls to try and get this to work but it's just FAIL everytime :(

Any idea's? I'm a bit of a noob to all this and I'm stumped!
