If I was to restore my old 2G iPhone to the stock 2.0 firmware with my 3G iPhone sim in it, would I be able to activate it using my current contract?

Cheers

Do you have to activate it every time you change the firmware? I was under the impression once it was activated that was it for the lifetime of the phone?

Yes, you could activate it.. although you'd have to ring 02 and give them your MAC code if you want to use the Wi-Fi hotspots.

Aye, I'm only thinking of warranty purposes for the missus' 2G iPhone. If it goes belly up, I want to be able to just vape it, stick my sim in and take it back to apple for a replacement. Saves all the 'why isn't it activated' rubbish.
